The Cirque du Soleil to heat up Paris before winter

November 2, 2011

After presenting Saltimbanco in 2005 and then Delirium and Alegria in 2008, the Cirque du Soleil will be back in Paris this November where they will welcome spectators under a huge tent for the Corteo show. Corteo premiered inCanada in 2004 and features clowns and acrobats attending one of their own’s’ funerals. But don’t be discouraged by the sad theme, the show is actually a vibrant display of colorful costumes, heady songs and breathtaking performances by state-of-the-art artists.

The company, created in 1984 inQuebec has proved incredibly successful over the last 20 years. Guy La Liberté, its charismatic founder, started as an acrobat in Quebec. He turned his little circus into a success story, making it a Fortune 500 company. A real rag-to-riches story as the Cirque du Soleil has become one of the most prestigious circuses in the world. It has more than 11 permanent shows all around the globe (9 in the USA and 2 in Asia) and 11 shows touring the world. More than 15 million spectators marvel at their performances every year. A permanent show was rumored to open 8 years ago at the Eurodisney theme park near Paris but the project unfortunately didn’t see the light of day. As a consolation prize, the numerous fans the Cirque du Soleil count in the French capital will now have a unique chance to admire those great artists in the coming weeks!

Cirque du Soleil from November 4th to December 18th on Ile Seguin (Boulogne-Billancourt). Tickets range in costs from 45€ to 186€.
