Merci, the ethical shopping experience

September 26, 2012

Tired of the huge department stores? If so, Merci is the solution to reconcile you with shopping. Merci is a store that opened only three years ago in the Marais district, between the Bastille and the “Republique” square.

The courtyard at the entrance of the boutique clearly marks its difference with classic stores: a peaceful area with a red Mini that has become the symbol of Merci. The Merci store is located in a huge 1.500 square meterloft with large windows that let natural light in. Once inside, your shopping session among all kinds of items can start: the products are randomly displayed in different rooms just like in a real house. Whether you are looking for clothes, decorations, candles or flowers, you should find the special gift for you or your loved ones.

Merci is a real boutique and a good opportunity to experience the French art-de-vivre. You can sit at a table in the restaurant and enjoy a light meal, purchase books after reading them on a comfortable sofa at the book-store. Merci often works with the most famous fashion designers in order to develop limited editions or sell regular products with discounts of up to 40%. Some of these brands include Stella McCartney, Paul Smith, LorisAzzaro. In addition, Merci also give its chance to new designers who show a promising talent.

Last but not least, all the profits are donated to a foundation helping children and women in Madagascar.

We call in each time we are in Paris, for a shop and a coffee. Always something stunning to see here.
